Coriander Seed is one of the plants that produce both a spice and an herb. The herb of the coriander plant is recognized as cilantro, while the fruit is known as coriander seed. The fruit of the coriander plant contains two seeds which, when dried, are the parts that are used as the spice. 

 

Cilantro refers to the leaves and stalks of the plant meanwhile, the dried seeds of the plant are labeled as coriander. Cilantro and coriander have significantly different nutrient profiles, tastes, and uses. The seeds are small, round, yellowish-brown, and have a lemony citrus flavor.
