A Tandoori Spice Blend is a mixture of spices that is used for use in a clay pot or Tandoor. It’s used in traditional Cooking. Even though the blend varies a bit from region to region, it almost always contains the following same spices:
- Garam Masala
- Garlic Powder
- Ginger Powder
- Nutmeg Powder
- Cayenne Pepper
This mixture of spices is also utilized to make Tandoori Paste. This spice blend is then mixed with lemon juice and yogurt to form a paste. It is a spicy seasoning and this blend of spices is what gives Tandoori its very individual flavor.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon ground cumin
- ½ teaspoon turmeric
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Mix all ingredients together.
- Store it in an airtight container.
